Combating Dry Skin Types

Building up your skincare routine can be a daunting task. With so many choices on the market it’s easy to get lost amongst the many ingredients and advertising ploys.

The key is choosing the correct products for your specific skin conditions and goals.

Dry skin is a common concern amongst clients usually and with the compulsory mask wearing, increased PPE and use of hand sanitizers currently now being enforced due to COVID19. This has increased the number of clients with dry skin even further.

Soaps and wipes should be avoided. Exfoliating a couple of times a week, cleansing and moisturising is the the basic skin ritual to perform daily. Ingredients to look for are glycolic acid to exfoliate and dissolve dry skin cells on the surface as well as allowing better penetration of other products. Hyaluronic acid is a natural humecent which attracts moisture to help hydrate skin which reduces appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Many of our products also include Glycerin and Squalene which are great ingredients for those with dry skin. We have seen a huge a increase in sales of our Multi Use Balms due to the amount of dry hands, body and masked areas. Ingredients include Butyrospermum Parkii butter (Shea Butter) Caprylic Triglyceride and Oryza Saliva Bran Oil which helps cell renewal, calm and hydrate the skin.
We also have a Hydrate skin ritual available from our Medi+ stockists specifically targeting those with dry skin.
